Ian is a strategic marketing leader with extensive consulting and line management business experience. He has over 30 years experience in marketing and business strategy development, including line management and consulting assignments in Australia, Asia and North America.

His first-hand experience in the management of marketing strategy, branding and positioning was gained during his working assignments in Australia, Canada and the USA with General Foods Corporation (now Kraft), one of the world’s largest marketers of packaged food and beverage products.
Ian has provided strategic marketing and management consulting services to the senior management of clients in diverse industries, including financial services, IT & telecommunications, consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing and building products. His hallmark is the development of market driven business strategy. This typically involves gaining new insights into customer needs and behaviours via a combination of market research and data analysis.
Ian has led many successful consulting engagements involving the development of innovative new approaches to market segmentation (needs based), customer data analysis (Slice & Dice) and customer service measurement (TCE). These assignments have benefited the businesses and customers of many leading Australian organisations including Amcor, BlueScope Steel, CSR, GWA, Laminex, Optus and Orica.
Ian has also led consulting engagements for many large global clients including IBM, Nokia, Unilever, American Express and Bristol-Myer Squibb.
Ian has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the School of Marketing at the University of New South Wales. He is a Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Ian is also a member of the Board of Directors of the not-for-profit organisation Guide Dogs NSW/ACT.
